Daniela Vega is among this year’s presenters at the Academy Awards, producers of the award show announced on Friday.
Greta Gerwig, Chadwick Boseman, Tiffany Haddish, Tom Holland, Kumail Nanjiani, Emma Stone, Laura Dern and Jennifer Garner are also among the first round of presenters that will announce the winners for the big night.
Vega’s announcement is particularly of note as she is thought to be the first openly transgender performer to present at the Academy Awards. The actress has become a critic darling for her breakout role in “A Fantastic Woman,” which has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.
“Whether returning to the Oscars stage, or gracing it for the first time, each of these artists bring their own distinguishing and energetic appeal,” Academy Awards producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd in a statement. “Their contributions will make for an unforgettable evening.”
The 90th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, air on Sunday, March 4 at 5 p.m. on ABC.
