Legendary pop singer and dancer Paula Abdul will headline the 2019 LA Pride Festival’s opening ceremony in West Hollywood Park on Friday, June 7.

Christopher Street West, the non-profit organization that produces LA Pride, has announced that Abdul will give a 90-minute performance. The night will also include the WeHo Vogue Ball & Drag Show and music by local DJs that will keep the party going. The opening ceremony kicks off at 6 p.m.

“I am so happy to be a part of this year’s LA Pride Festival and to celebrate this year’s theme, #JUSTUNITE,” Abdul said in a staetment. “Throughout the course of my career, the LGBTQ+ community has stood behind me, and I’m honored to now have the opportunity to show my support and gratitude by performing at this year’s Opening Ceremony. I’m hoping the night will be a chance for all generations of the community to come together to celebrate one another and the work that has been done.”

The opening ceremony is free.
