J.K. Rowling fired back at a homophobic Twitter troll on Tuesday for calling her a “stupid dyke.”
Rowling tweeted a screenshot of a comment a Twitter user sent her along with her reply.
“J.K. Rowlings thinks shes tough. Stupid dyke,” the message read. The author responded with a “fact check” list breaking down the mean-spirited comment.
“#FactCheck 1. I don’t think I’m that tough. 2. I definitely do stupid things sometimes. 3. I’d be so gay if you were the alternative,” Rowling replied.

This isn’t the first time Rowling has shut down homophobic behavior on Twitter. After Tom Daley came last in the men’s solo 10-meter platform diving semi-finals, a conservative U.K. Christian group attributed his loss to his sexuality.
“Turning gay doesn’t seem to have done Tom Daley any favors,” the group tweeted.

Rowling slammed the tweet writing, “Can’t decide which is more offensive in this tweet, the stupidity or the spite.”
