Kathy Griffin is making her return to the stage after suffering a major career blow from her controversial photo shoot posing with a replica of President Donald Trump’s severed head.

The comedian appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” her first official on-screen interview since the incident, to announce that she will be making a return to stand-up.

“I’m dipping my toes into touring again even though the Trumps and nobody wants me to work again,” Griffin told Maher. “I just booked today, I’m going to do a show at Carnegie Hall in New York and I’m also going to go right to Trump’s back yard and do a show at the Kennedy Center.”

Griffin announced more tour dates on Twitter including Boston, San Francisco, Seattle and Canada.

She went on to thank Maher for being open about his support for her.

“I really want to thank you for being one of the first and only people to publicly support me and say what happened was bulls—,” Griffin told Maher. She compared his support to other celebrities who quietly contacted her saying “Don’t tell anybody about this text, [but] I totally support you.”

Griffin also addressed the cancellation of her 50-city comedy tour in the midst of the controversy and being fired from CNN.

“I don’t blame them. They’re normally doing ‘Stomp’ or ‘Mama Mia,'” Griffin says of the venues that pulled out of her tour as she received numerous death threats.

As for losing her gig at CNN, Griffin says “And Don Jr., like of all people Don Jr., that frickin’ Cro-Mag, that barely human whatever his deal is, he goes on Good Morning America and says we don’t just want to ruin Kathy Griffin’s career, we want to decimate her. And that was like months after the photo.”

Maher asks Griffin, “If you had to do it all over again, I assume you wouldn’t take the picture…”

“I’d do Mike Pence,” Griffin jokes.”I’m kidding. Ten months I’ve waited to do that joke. Ten months.”
